Maggie Sasso produces conceptual bodies of work that express macrocosmic ideas through microcosmic detail and examines the role of material culture in relationship to our collective past. She’s had solo exhibitions in Madison, WI, Portland, OR, Lexington, KY and Milwaukee, WI and is included in many group exhibits throughout the United States and Canada. Sasso received her MFA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and her BFA from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky where she was born and raised. She was a visiting artist and instructor at the Oregon College of Art and Craft and currently works at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design as the Textiles Lab Technician and an adjunct lecturer.
