the studio space
Maggie Sasso Studios is currently located in Milwaukee, WI in the neighborhood of Bay View. The 5th floor studio in an industrial building managed by Keith Nelson and Michael Roberts on the Kinnickinnic river is spacious with lots of natural light, a painted wood floor, and elbow room to spare. Equipped with Industrial Sewing Machines, a collection of looms, and plants, Maggie is well organized and inspired on the daily.
Previous studio locations were at Var West in the Walker’s Point neighborhood, and Sasso’s basement, where she could sneak in 15 minutes of studio time while her then baby napped (a rare occasion).
Maggie Sasso Studios does not work in a vacuum. While Maggie is the coalescing force, she has so much support from her community; as often as possible they are hired, sometimes they volunteer, most of the time it’s Ben Jones, Maggie’s extremely talented and generous husband.
